This year, I have put together a Wren for the 2024 holiday ornament.

Inspiration is a funny thing. I spend a good deal of time at our small river cabin just watching the surroundings and nature moving before me. One day, recently, I watched several wren fluttering around not too far from me. In my time spent I had never seen this species there before, one of those moments that just make you stop and think.

So, there it was, the inspiration in that odd little moment. Made more meaningful knowing the symbolism and lore of the wren.

"The spiritual meaning of the wren is one of determination, enthusiasm, change, and happiness."

"The most prominent belief is that spotting a wren signifies the coming of good fortune, sometimes linked to the idea of the wren being a symbol of the old year giving way to the new."

Since, we can all use a boost from time to time it seemed like the perfect theme for this year’s ornament. Plus, I am still in awe and thinking of that odd little moment.
