Another homage to my childhood in Texas. The Antlion who would create their funnel like den waiting for the hapless insect to stumble into. Then out of the depths they were snatched and pulled into their demise.

Ok, maybe a bit dramatic but I know I would not want to run into one this size, but who as a kid did not grab a twig in hopes of antagonizing the Antlion dwelling within it’s borrow?

This one began with the adaption of the large vintage calipers to create it’s fearsome pinchers. Then filled out with a steam gauge, an old strainer, and a glass fuel filter to help really convey the anatomy.
