In many cultures, angels are symbolic of Faith, Intelligence, Strength, Innocence and Purity. They have been described as the messengers between the Spiritual and Earthly realms.
They provide protection, one example is illustrated in the belief of Guardian Angels. To be give an angel to a friend or loved one is a sign of protection for them. In addition, providing them comfort and strength.
For this, I feel that the choice of the Angel for this year’s ornament is relevant because who hasn't called upon a higher power at some point in the preferred form that it may take for you.
